Do Blonds Have More Fun??

Well I have decided to test that age long question myself. I have been a blond my whole life, but my hair seems to be getting darker over the years. Now that I am pregnant my hair is growing like a weed. Every time I laid down $165 for cut and highlight my hair would look great for the first week, but by week two I already had roots appearing. By the end of the month I had a good inch of regrowth and was spending a fortune keeping up with it. So I thought what the heck....and became a brunette. So far I love it and I think it will be allot easier to maintain. Sometimes I look in the mirror and feel like I am wearing a wig, but I know I will get used to it in no time.

I love going to the beauty salon and getting pampered. Yesterday, I got an even bigger surprise when I got more free time and pampering last night. I got home form my appointment and was fully intending to see my husband off to work shortly there after. He told me I better get ready because he has taken the night off and arranged for my friend and I to go to dinner and take in a movie. We had dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen, where I stuffed my face with bread and butter while my friend drooled. She is on the South Beach diet and is not aloud bread. Yes I did feel guilty eating it in front of her, but no it did not stop me from going for a second slice. Then we went and saw "Must Love Dogs." I thought it was a great movie and highly recommend seeing it. When the movie let out we had 15 minutes before Pier 1 closed so we rushed over there for some last minute shopping. I am sure the sales people loved us as we browse around right at closing time. Then after Pier 1 closed at 9 we hit Ross because it did not close until 9:30. I got a rolling pin! I will probably never use it, but now I can at least say I own one, and maybe borrow it to a needy neighbor.
Today I had a Dr.s appointment and met with a new DR. I like her allot better then my last one because she agreed to induce me at 38 weeks. I always dilate way early and was worried because if my water breaks at home I have about ten minutes before the baby is coming out, and we live a good 45 minutes from the hospital. Also there is a high potential that Ben will not be here for the birth and I might be driving myself to the hospital. Hopefully he will get out of this training session he has in Japan, but you can never count on anything in the military.
Anyway I should get back to work.

Routine!

I have always been a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl, but now that we have started home schooling I am little miss routine! I feel like I am so organized lately, I guess because I have to be. Every morning we wake up around 8am (yeah I know we are not morning people) Then I get myself and Addison a bowl of cereal which we quickly inhale and pop some waffles for the younger two. I load them up with sippy cups and us up with water bottles and put the younger two in the jogging stroller while I of course push and Addison rides along on her bike. We do a two mile walk. I would like to go a little more but Addison if not going for it. We then come home and get them all in the bath. Once everyone is dressed for the second time we come down stairs and start school. The first class of the day is bible class and it is on DVD, so I take this opportunity to take a shower of my own. Ususally while Corben open and closes the door saying "hi mama!" In his oh so cute little way. By the time I am dressed and ready the girls are ready to start their next class, and Corben likes to think he is at school as well by doing some coloring. While Addison does her next class Cam gets some computer time and I clean the house. We break for lunch, Corben goes down for a nap, and the girls and I continue with school until about 2pm. Corben is still asleep for another good hour or so that gives me time to get dinner started ( well on the days I decide I am actually going to cook dinner) which has actually been allot lately. When the day ends I actually feel like I have gotten allot accomplished, and my house has been cleaner then ever. It has been going really great so far. I never in a million years thought I would say this, but I am actually enjoying it.
Tonight we had friends over for dinner. I made salmon with a sun dried tomato sauce laid over orzo, with asparagus, and a spinach poppy seed salad. I even made home made cherry cheese cake for dessert. Just call me Betty Crocker!
I am getting so excited about moving into the new house. My dad is going to build us a deck when he comes to visit in Febuary, and we have been looking at hot tubs as well. I have all my paint picked out, and cannot wait to start decorating! If time continues to fly by like this summer did we should be in the house in no time.
Rufus is growing like a weed and has doubled in size already. So now he is two apples tall instead of one.
Well I don't think there is too much else going on around here. Hope everyone is doing well! Aloha!

Tragedy!

I woke up this morning and experienced a horrible and devastating tragedy. In fact I hope you are all sitting for this because I am going to need your prayer and support as I grieve this situation. It appears the over night my pants have shrunk! I was watching the news last night and there is a strange phenomenon spreading across America. The caption read..."Beware, over consumption of Big Mac's have been releasing a chemical into the air the has been shrinking pants all across the USA." I quickly prayed for all our suffering Americans but never thought it would happen to me. Well The pants have taken me victim and they are continuing to snug tighter as I struggle to breath. Take cover now before this disease spreads to your area. It tends to focus on the behind and then work its way down your thigh. It has almost reached my ankle so I am afraid there is no cure for me now, but please use this storey to help others before the become victim. Perhaps hiding the pants in a sealed box may help. I have heard of people avoiding the spread by placing their pants at the gym. As for me, you can just continue to pray, and hopefully be able to love me anyway.

little side note: Addison recently received some belated birthday money from Grandpa and was anxious to make sure it did not last long. So last night she went on a spending frenzy and made sure she used every last penny. In fact she even went over and needed a little loan from mommy dearest. After much shuffling back and forth and her perfect gift she decided on a game boy advance. She got a blue one with a case and three new games. We also got the best game ever, Super Mario Party 6 for the game cube, which she has been wanting for a long time, (and so have I). It is a great game for the whole family to sit down and compete...I mean play. So anyway by the time we got home it was well past 9pm and of course all the kids wanted to dig into their new toys. So Addison got busy with her game boy, Camryn played a new game on Game Cube, and Corben grabbed a controller so thought he was playing as well. So this is where all the problems started and I am hoping someone has some advice for this. I am finding with all the games there is allot of reading that goes with it. Most of the reading is over my kids head so they are constantly asking me "what does this say?" "what do I do now?" "Can you get me past this level?" All the kids were asking me at the same time and I was ready to go biserk!!! I thought these games were supposed to keep the kids entertained, but all they were doing was driving me crazy. It does not help that I am video game illiterate and my talent does not go beyond the original games of Super Mario Brother, and Frogger on Atari. Help!!!

The walk through!!

Yesterday we had our walk through of the new house. I thought I would share some of the pictures I took. Keep in mind that I have not had a chance to add my decorating flair yet. There will be more picture to come once we move in:

This is our street, which reminds me allot of Hoo-ville from The Grinch, with all the houses looking the same and very close together.

this is our house!

This is a view from our living room looking into the kitchen

looking into the livingroom from the back door.

Ben in our bedroom...where all the magic happens...yeah right!

Our bathroom with His and Her sinks!

bathtub.....self explanatory I guess.

And last but not least, my favorite feature, one half of my WALK IN closet!

This is the second time I have done this blog, somehow I lost it the first time and now I am very frustrated so I am going to hurry up and post before it disappears again.

Funeral Crashers!

I was all excited last night when I was in bed before ten and was finally going to catch up on some much needed sleep. I was doing great until I woke up at 3am from a terrible nightmare. I dreamt that my husband had died of some weird natural causes and we went through the funeral proceedings and everything, and the whole time I felt pretty numb. The about two weeks later everything was a blur, I could not remember what our last words to each other were, and I totally lost it. It seemed up to this point that it may not be real and he was just away with work but then reality set in and I went into shock thinking he would never be coming home again. By the time I woke up I had tears streaming down my face like Niagara Falls, my heart was beating faster the a race horse at the Kentucky Derby, And I was breathing harder then a hooker on a busy night. I quickly turned over to see my husband sleeping peacefully beside me, but still had trouble coming back to reality. It all felt so weird. So I wake Ben up and make him snuggle me just to make sure it is real. So I told him what happened and he held me as I tried to fall back asleep. The key word here is tried. Only this time It was not my racing heart that kept me awake it was my frisky husband. The nerve I thought. Taking advantage of a heart broken widow. A widow to vulnerable to fight back, and to fearful of being lonely. I had no choice but to accept my fate. So needless to say I did not wake up and feel all refreshed and well rested. I will try again tonight.

Time for some updates: Addison's play went really well and of course she was the cutest little bird on stage. Soon she will be smoozing with the Hollywood big names and be engaged to Tom Cruise. Here is a pic of our little cutie!

Also Rufus has been accessorized! He has a brown with white polk-a-dot dog purse to be carried around in. Then we got my favorite new accessory, his own little chase lounge. I am also looking for a diamond personalized dog collar. I almost bought him the cutest pair of puppy overalls but I figured it is probably too hot for him to wear them here.

My niece is visiting us for a month from Texas and we have been taking full advantage of having a 14 year old baby sitter around. Thursday night I went with my favorite diva friend to dinner and a movie. We were in the mood for a good laugh so we decided to go see Wedding Crashers. It was the funniest movie I have ever seen. My stomach hurt when I left the theater because I laughed so hard. It was a little crude, and I found myself saying, "no he did not just say that!" But he did and it made me laugh even harder! If you have not seen that movie yet it is a must see. In fact I loved it so much that I went again on Saturday so my husband could see it. He laughed just as much as I did! We also went and ate at the cheesecake factory on Saturday before the movie with another couple friends of ours. I just love hanging in out in Waikiki at night. It just feels like you are on vacation with everyone else as you are sipping (non-alcoholic:( ) drinks with the little umbrella and a fresh flower as you overlook the water. Dinner was great and I ate until I could hardly move, and then added a chocolate raspberry truffle cheese cake for dessert.

This weekend was friends and family weekend at the Gap. I went with my little certificate in hand and hit the jackpot! I got 3 new bras, two skirts (for after the pregnancy), a pair of pants, 5 scarf/belts, a pair of shoes, something for each kid and a pair of flip flops for my husband all for $150. Gotta love a great sale! I just can't wait to get back down to me regular size so I can wear it all!

Our house has been finished and we get to do the final walk through on Thursday. We are excited to see the final product! Now we just have to finalize all the paper work and are looking at a move in date of late September.

Well I think that is it for now. I have a full day of house cleaning ahead....
